Carequest Club Field Trip

The Care Quest Club field trip was held annually, and members went to different places
every year to show love and care for those who are in need. This year, on the Sunday of April 28, 2011, the bus departed from Ekamai International School, carrying about 50 Care Quest Club members and teachers, to the Bangkhae Home for Elders.
Before the anticipated day, members of CQC had already prepared a performance for the grandmas and grandpas to have fun. There were instrumental performances, vocal performances, and more. The highlight of the show was when the elders were invited to join the “Rum Wong”, which is the Thai dance. Care Quest Club members danced and walked around the area in a circle with some elders dancing along and others clapping their hands in their seats.
When the shows were over, members had a little conversation with the grandmas and grandpas, sharing memories and exchanging experiences. They were amazed by how friendly the elders were and on how much knowledge they possessed. Members of CQC helped the staffs in distributing the plates to the elders.
Members were not only happy because they got to help those who are in need, but were also happy when they see the elders smiling and laughing, showing happiness on their faces; they realized that just only one act of random kindness could make a huge difference in another person’s life and bring forth cherished memories that will always stay alive forever.
“The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up.”
